2010: Blez in QuickaQuasar at Bentley Museum

Blez in Mark Crowson's much-developed QuickaQuasar at the Bentley Museum which we visited during the 2010 Quasar gathering. Mark originally bought it off John Malfoy (of Quasar rear light and Romarsh Quasar production fame) back in 1998, in standard Romarsh trim, but changed it a great deal over the following decade. The original Reliant engine has been tuned, the Reliant 4-speed gearbox replaced with the 5-speed unit from a Moto Guzzi, complete with its shaft and bevel drive; the roof has been subtly raised by 2 inches for improved headroom, the engine lowered and the whole thing dramatically lightened with thinner bodywork, 3-spoke 17inch Marchesini wheels and vastly superior brakes: 320mm Brembo discs and AP Racing 4-pot calipers replacing the 240mm discs and 2-pot calipers originally fitted.
I left my Genesis 650 at Mark's place during the rally in order to ride this very special Quasar for the day, which was a real pleasure. It's a fantastic machine to ride and is good for more than 120mph on the autobahn. You can see Mark himself riding it briefly in the field behind the pub that we adjourned to for lunch in Helena's video of the 10th Quasar rally here:

You can also hear Mark talking about it at length, in a separate 10 minute video, here:
