The NMM Quasar – RIP!

This is the National Motorcycle Museum's Quasar photographed where it was usually kept. It was rolled outside for the Top Gear filming in 1988 and was the first thing to be seen at the start of the programme with William Woollard sitting in it. It was rolled outside again in 1992 for the photo with the Ecomobile which can be seen elsewhere on this page. Then it burnt to a cinder in the disastrous fire which destroyed the museum and many of its precious contents in 2003, not long after this photo was taken in 2002.

2016 UPDATE: The National Motorcycle Museum has since acquired another Quasar, FHR 942W, which is far more famous/notorious than the curators realise! See the section of the Quasar section devoted to that particular machine, here: http://www.bikeweb.com/image/tid/166
