Monoliner bodywork nears completion

Amazingly the OAP is still shuffling round the workshop in Bristol, making Monoliner bodywork (the idea is that if this takes long enough the rest of the world will catch up). It'll be finished this year.

Here's a recent picture of the 'lost foam' technique being used on one of the side panels - just enough ribbing left in place to give this long panel aerodynamic stiffness and maintain it's very 'slow' external curves.

Epoxy/foam composites like this are quite different to Polyester/foam. Epoxy is so light that the foam becomes the main weight contribitor - and so strong that much of the surface doesn't need supporting as polyester would. So removing all the internal foam, except for stiffening, crash protection and ducting, also removes a surprising amount of weight.
