Jan's Description & Ardingly Rosette!

To save using the zoom facility or a magnifying glass, Jan's blurb about his Norton reads:
4 CANDLES?*
"Well, actually, this 'Feet Forward' doesn't have forks at all. Instead, [it has] a Tony Foale centre hub arrangement .
I started with that, and the 1975 Norton Commando engine, gearbox and swing-arm, and built the frame etc around them.
All fibreglass bodywork, some adapted, tall box home-made.
Unusually, there are two seating positions, two sets of foot controls.
Longest trip, last year, to Bordeaux area [in South West France]."

*NB: For our younger and/or non-British friends, the heading 4 CANDLES? Is a reference to a famous TV comedy sketch by the late great Two Ronnies, Barker & Corbett, in which the convoluted premise is a confusion in a hardware store between a whole series of orders which can be understood two ways, starting with "four candles" versus "fork 'andles". (It was regarded as very funny at the time! Judge fer yerselves!:

An Award for an FF! Isn't that the first award for an FF since the "Egg" won a Schools buildda bike competition at the Hendon Police school sometime in the early eighties?

Apart from the E-tracer winning the 'alternative class'in Elon Musk's 'efficiency X-prize' - and 2.5 million bucks. but no-one took any notice of that of course.
