2 + 4-wheeled BMW EVs, charging for free (2017)

This photo illustrates two important points: 1/ BMW's C evolution uses the same technology as the company's i3 electric car and 2/ both machines can be plugged into standard UK electric car chargepoints, as available to use for free at many branches of Sainsbury's, and elsewhere. This may sound obvious, but it was NOT possible for the first 3 years that the C evolution was in production, from the Spring of 2014 to 2017. Not in the UK, anyway, thanks to our electric vehicle chargepoints not being fitted with domestic-style sockets, which was all the original C evos could be plugged into. Fortunately, in 2017, BMW finally saw the sense in offering an optional second cable which enables C evos to be plugged in as pictured here; a snip at £560. If you think that sounds expensive, it's a lot cheaper than the so-called 'Chargetank' option offered by Zero for their electric motorcycles at $2,295 in 2018, and not available for their 2017 range in the EU, at all!
