Green Bykero, Oxford Services, 2019

Snapped by Yours Truly at Oxford Services on the M40/A40 in November 2019. £1 per go, or three for £2. These children's rides strike me as 'Malcolm Newell's 1970s Quasar meets Andy Sparrow's 1980s Bloodrunners', but updated for the 21st century. It's not entirely clear to me how the steering works, or even whether there is any, but I'm intrigued by the single, central shock absorber! I'm sure there'd be a market for a full-size, roadgoing version, in many different electric power options, from 28mph mopeds to 150mph roadburners! PNB

Bykero steering

The Bykero is steered by the fans in the wheels. Adjustable vanes determine the direction, however these are controlled by the passenger in the sports car that has to accompany it on every journey.

Of course!

That makes conmplete sense. Can't think why I didn't spot it.
