FFs at scrutiny

Graham R and his Voyager V05 get scrutinised while Monty B looks on. Sadly, this is as close we got to the track, since the rain continued to pour down and the arena was turned into a lake! Photo: Paul Blez

Beaulieu 2007 mudpit

On Sunday, a camper asked the organisers to provide tractors to pull the cars out of the camping area, two giant four wheel drive ones were located and this was the result....they got the cars out OK though!

Steak Frites!

None of this instant energy pasta stuff for Englishmen! Good old steak frites for Olde Bobbe. I have no idea if it mooed or neighed previously but it tasted very nice, good job I answered her for it to be bien cuit rather than chopped raw though..
By the time I got home after a post midnight dash from the ferry I had completed 1321 miles on 81 litres of petrol, an average of 74 miles per gallon - excellent!

Ze French Stick

No trip would be complete without some sort of incident but instead of seizing the engine or crashing our incident was just the left hand mirror stalk breaking off where my magic stillsons had cracked the tube while adjusting things before setting off. A few zip ties and a genuine thank you to the French for providing CPAM cellulose polystrand arboreal material beside all Routes Nationales meant that a piece of French Stick in the literal sense effected a repair!

French test

Well I promised you a test to France and here is the proof - La Rochelle, having gone the long way round via Le Havre, Quimper, Benodet, Concarneau and Carnac in Brittany.
Several high bridges tested the bike's hill climbing ability at Honfleur, St Nazaire and Nantes and despite their large scale and crosswinds we both survived.

Anita (behind) and Vivienne (in front) were the Miss Federations of the BMF Show in 1978 and 1976 respectively. They were reunited at the 2007 event and I persuaded them to squeeze themselves into my Quasar. PNB
